Elkan & Levinsohn was founded in 1909 in Berlin, Germany focusing on window display design, but they also specialized in custom typography and various inventions. Some time later, Leopold Levinsohn began a school devoted to window display design. The only survivors from his family would be his eldest son and only daughter, the grandmother of Adam Thabo, who would go on to specialize in exhibition design.
Today, Adam Thabo leads our research, design and fabrication teams and is focused on reviving the firm and continuing the tradition of fine art exhibition design and production. It is our aspiration that sharing this archive and story will facilitate the learning of this rich and creative time and place in history and foster dialogue that will help piece together all of that which was lost.
