Elkan & Levinsohn

Founded in Berlin, Ga. in 1909, the firm specialized  in window display and graphic design. The character Der Plakatshreiber which translates to “The Poster-maker”  was created by them as well as a collection of books, images, typographies and inventions related to the scenic industry.  

Today, the firm has been revived by Leopold Levinsohn’s great-grandson, Adam Thabo.

Adam Thabo has been working in exhibition design, fabrication and installation for over 30 years both as Design Director of South Side Design & Building, with Odd Division as lead design engineer and independently as Field Trip Design, LLC. He  specializes in interactive immersive technologies. 

Currently, Adam Thabo is also professor of interior architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design and professor of Exhibition Design at New York University.
